How many players deep should a football depth chart go?
Three is the standard — a starter and two backups. Youth and small high school programs often run two deep because the roster will not support more. This builder defaults to three and lets you set any position from one to five deep.
Can a player appear at more than one position?
Yes. Two-way players are the norm below the varsity level, so the builder allows the same athlete on offense, defense, and special teams. Any name used more than once is badged so it is a decision you made rather than a mistake you missed.
Do I have to type every name?
No. Paste your roster from a spreadsheet, a team app export, or a plain list of names and the builder splits out jersey numbers and positions for you. You review what it parsed before anything lands on the chart.
