6 rounds of 30 seconds (2 of each pattern), 3โ€“5 days a week
Equipment
  • 2 basketballs, both pumped up the same

How to do the drill

  1. 1

Get low with a ball in each hand, just outside each foot.

  2. 2

Together: dribble both balls waist high so they land at the same time. Go 30 seconds and count every together dribble.

  3. 3

Alternating: one ball goes down as the other comes up. Go 30 seconds.

  4. 4

High-low: one ball waist high, the other low by your ankle. Go 30 seconds.

  5. 5

Rest 30 seconds between rounds and do each pattern twice. Log your best together round.

Coaching cues

  • Pound both balls.
  • Weak hand sets pace.
  • Chest up, eyes up.

What good looks like

Together dribbles make one sound, and your weak hand keeps up with your strong hand.

Safety

Dribble on smooth, dry ground only, away from parked cars and never in the street. Indoors, clear space away from furniture, TVs and windows.

Why this drill

Two balls make your weak hand work on every single dribble, so it catches up fast. It also builds the strength and rhythm used in every move.
