How to do the drill

  1. 1

Stand with your left foot a step ahead of your right, feet wide, knees bent.

  2. 2

Dribble with your right hand and push the ball through your legs on one bounce to your left.

  3. 3

Point your fingers at your left hand as you let go, then send it back.

  4. 4

Count every clean trip for 30 seconds. Do 2 rounds, then 2 with your right foot forward. Log your best.

  5. 5

Walk your driveway and back 4 times, bouncing it through on every step.

Coaching cues

  • Point at your other hand.
  • Get low.
  • Eyes up when it's easy.

What good looks like

The ball goes through on one hard bounce without touching your legs, and you stay low.

Safety

Dribble on smooth, dry ground only, away from parked cars and never in the street. Indoors, clear space away from furniture, TVs and windows.

Why this drill

Between the legs keeps your legs between the ball and the defender while you change hands. It is the start of many combo moves.
