How to use these soccer passing drills
What these passing drills work on
- Passes that stay on the ground and go where you aim.
- Passing with both feet.
- Passing the first time without stopping the ball.
- Long passes and legal throw-ins.
Where to start
- Every player starts with how to pass a soccer ball: plant foot beside the ball, ankle locked, strike with the inside of the foot.
- Add one-touch wall passing once the pass is accurate.
- Older players can add the long pass. Every player should know the throw-in.
What you need
- A brick or concrete wall and tape or chalk for a target, or a rebounder. Keep away from windows and the street.
- A partner helps for long passes, but a big open field and a target work too.
Soccer passing drills FAQ
How can I practice soccer passing by myself?
Use a wall. Mark a target on a brick or concrete wall and pass at it with the inside of each foot, controlling the ball on the way back. See how to pass a soccer ball and one-touch wall passing.
How do you do a legal throw-in?
Face the field, keep part of both feet on the ground on or behind the line, hold the ball with two hands and bring it from behind your head over the top. See the throw-in drill.
